“Alexandru Podgoreanu” International Airport in Tuzla celebrates on April 27, 2024 its relaunch in a new, modern, efficient and charming formula.

1958: Romanian Medical Aviation (AVIASAN) is founded in Constanța
1967: Tuzla becomes the main centreof AVIASAN operations
1999: Tuzla Airport becomes the base of Regional Air Services
2007 – 2018: Tuzla is the host and organizer of 17 international airshows
2010: Tuzla is ranked the 2nd most important Romanian airport in terms of number of aircraft movements for more than a decade
2016: part of the CEF project – Synchronized PBN Implementation – Cohesion Europe (SPICE) through The Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA)
2017: the airport received the name of Alexandru Podgoreanu – the first commander of AVIASAN
2020: Modernization and development of airport infrastructure at Tuzla Airport, POIM 2014-2020
2023: Conformity of Tuzla Airport, Constanța county, to the operational requirements of airport safety and security, POIM 2014-2020
2024: host of AirSchengen event: Romania-Bulgaria
April 27, 2024: official reopening of Alexandru Podgoreanu International Airport, Tuzla – completely modernized
